The oldest person to pass away was Dutch Roman Catholic priest Jacques Clemens (age 108). In 1939, Clemens was ordained as a priest and soon after became a teacher at what was the Seminar of Gerpinnes.
Five years later, he was appointed Vicar of the Walloon municipality of Ham-sur-Heure-Nalinnes. Clemens was also made Chaplain of The Bultia, a hamlet in the village of Nalinnes. On the first day of 1958, The Church of Saint-Benoît opened in The Bultia making Clemens its first parish priest.
In 2015, Clemens retired as a parish priest but continued to provide religious services to the hamlet each Sunday. Before his death, it was thought that he could be world’s oldest priest.
The youngest was Norwegian football Adrian Lillebekk Ovlien (age 20). From 2012-16 he played on various youth levels (U15 to U19) and was capped 50 times by Norway. He was also a central defender for Kongsvinger since 2013. Ovlien played in over 100 competitive first-team matches with the club.
Ovlien passed away unexpected on the morning of March 16. According to a short press release from the club, he died due to an acute infection which likely induced septic shock.
